Ciara and Chris | The Hotel Lafayette | Marietta, Ohio
May 1, 2019
Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of heading over to Marietta Ohio and shooting Ciara and Chris's engagement session. This session was a little extra special to me, becasue my parents actually made the journey with me. We have all been so busy, so they decided to join me for my little road trip which meant we got to go shopping, eat a lot of yummy food and spend a lot of quality time together. The other reason this session was a little extra special is because Ciara is a photographer, and I always love when I have the pleasure of photographing another photographer. It seriously means so much to me, as I know as a photographer choosing someone to photograph me can be a tough decision, all my friends are so dang talented. So definitely felt honored to be photographing these two and their love.
Ciara and Chris chose the sweetest location for their engagement session, The Hotel Lafayette in Marietta Ohio. These two went on an anniversary trip to this hotel and totally fell in love with it. They will even be getting married there next year, which makes this session just a little sweeter as we were able to step in the exact room they will be wed in and capture some of their engagement photos, seriously how cute is that. Not only did we have the pleasure of exploring the hotel they will be getting married in but also the town. Marietta is the cutest little town snuggled on the Ohio River, literally on the border of West Virginia, and it is the cutest. I could of stayed there for days exploring everything, it was so easy to see why Ciara and Chris love the town so much. Plus it felt so special to be able to document their love in some place they love. This town is also seriously the most photogenic town ever, just wait until you see the photos. During their session we wondered town to the river where the town has a lock tree. Similar to the lock bridge in Paris, you are suppose to put a lock on this tree with you and your loved ones names and lock it there to seal your love forever. I had the pleasure of getting to see Ciara and Chris's lock they placed over a year ago before they were engaged. Now a year later here they are ready to make their love a forever.
