I obviously have not been shooting many seniors like I used to, just due to the demands of engagement sessions and weddings, I have not had a lot of extra time. However I am lucky enough to shoot a few here and there and this one happens to be pretty near and dear to my heart. I first met Jacob 16 years ago when he moved in next door to me. He was about 1 and a half, and I was 6. My sister, his sister, him, and I used to spend countless hours in our backyard together playing on the swing set, in the sandbox, and riding our bikes around our driveways. I grew up with Jacob, and now here he is a senior, so if that does not make you feel old, I truly don't know what will. It amazed me how quickly time has gone as I feel like us playing on their swing set was just yesterday, which is so crazy to me.
It was such a pleasure to spend time with Jacob and his mom and to hear everything that is going on in his life. He graduated high school a semester early, has made the decision to go to college for nursing, is working full time, and has a girlfriend he adores. He is still just as sweet and kind, still funny, and still all smiles. Just now all grown up and I truly can not believe it. Time has passed so quickly and I feel like I blinked and that little 1 year old that moved in next door to me, is all grown up and headed to college. It is so amazing to have the job I do, so I could capture him in his last moments of high school, and spend some time catching up. Now if anyone needs me I am going to go find some old pictures of all of us and reminisce.
